Busy Busy

I forgot to write yesterday, oops. Things are getting busy again with work. I was really happy to empty my kitchen of all my teaching stuff finally today, but it's a lot of setting up my room, finishing up my syllabi, and preparing my lessons. Plus, I have my second CLEP test Saturday, and my first ESL certification class started yesterday. Whew.

My first week of the ESL 1 class is all about professionalism--which is important--but my first assignment after introductions was to look at the list of teachers on the PA Department of Education website who were reprimanded, lost their teaching licenses or had them suspended/revoked. A few were reinstated, admittedly.

I was shocked at the reasons given for them--everything is public, I guess. Way too many included sexual activity with minors. Scary.

It doesn't have much to do with ESL yet, but it's ok. I'm going to try to get as many of the assignments for the class done before my English/Social Studies certification classes and doctoral classes start again in a couple of weeks.

Tomorrow I have to go to a different location across the city for PD, but at least I can sleep in maybe 30 minutes more.
