Yesterday, as I said, my car didn't get fixed because of bad weather. There were thunderstorms, a flood warning, a tornado warning...but today, my amazing neighbor J fixed it! I only had to pay him $60. The starter was about $100. Not too shabby.

The first thing I did was run to Trader Joe's and then Whole Foods. I was just going to buy some nice cheese since I hadn't had any for days, but of course I splurged.

It was nice actually eating some of the frozen stuff that had been languishing at the bottom of my freezer though. I didn't want to spend extra money on getting food delivered or a Lyft or anything.

My colleague that drove me in brought me cheese this morning--so nice!

Oh, also, I missed a book talk Monday. I didn't feel bad though because apparently I wouldn't have been able to get it signed due to a late shipment. Tomorrow there is an event I don't want to miss though, so I'm glad I can drive there.

Tomorrow is the last day of summer school. I only had three students at the end, and one is graduating tomorrow so he won't be there. The second is going to the graduation because his brother is graduating. I doubt the third will come. We'll see. I have an appointment at two to renew my ESL emergency certification, and we have to stay two extra hours to clean the classroom. That will take me like 15 minutes, so it'll give me time to study. Then I have a webinar and that event at the Ethical Society.

Then three weeks off from teaching! My first CLEP test is next Friday, so I'll be cramming. And working on my dissertation and advance reading and so on.
