Stress

I finished up most of my first ESOL specialist certification class, and I'll do the rest this weekend. I'm pretty much on schedule with my two other classes also.

I'm just really stressed though--they assigned me to coaching again this year, and I wish they hadn't. I have so much to do, and now I have to deal with a coach coming in to observe me once a week. She doesn't stay too long which is fine--I get nervous. However, I then have to meet with her once a week to review. That takes away from my prep/grading time. She just told me all the things I am doing wrong, talked at me, and didn't listen to what I said today. (I should say her first couple of observations were more positive.) I don't like that she doesn't even teach the same subjects as I do. I thought I could get out of it, but I can't apparently. I could just ask an admin person to coach me instead. I have three new subjects I am teaching, and I don't have enough time to do what I need to do to prepare without worrying about her "coaching".

It's really everything. The school doesn't seem very supportive, and most of the people all seem rude.

Examples:

I lost my keys for a couple of days, and the school admin told me if I didn't find them by the next day, I could get a spare set. They assured me of that. Then, when I went to ask the person who handles the keys there were no spare sets. I then got one classroom key but no bathroom key. I was told to call climate staff if I needed the bathroom. I didn't have their contact info though, and they are never in eyesight. Crazy.

Students are not supposed to leave class without a pass, and cutting class is a big problem there. I tried to tell climate when that happened. but the second time they essentially told me that the students would just be sent back to class. No consequences apparently.

Rant rant rant.
